Multiple reports, frameworks and roadmaps from the CSIRO and the government have set an aspirational price target for green hydrogen of $2 per kilogram by 2030 when Australia aims to be a top three global hydrogen exporter.
Trials, pilots and feasibility studies are under way, many co-founded by ARENA, the Australian Renewable Energy Agency, which has invested $22 million in 16 projects, the majority in Queensland and Western Australia.
