EEW Eco Energy World PLC said March 10 that it is set to develop one of the world's largest green hydrogen and solar photovoltaic projects in Queensland, Australia, at an estimated total cost of A$500 million.
The group has already developed a 300-MW solar asset in the region, which is ready to build. EEW now plans to combine that plant with the project to produce renewable energy for green hydrogen production, developing a 200-MW hydrogen plant with a further 100-MW allocated to energy storage.
The hydrogen plant will produce 33,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year using electrolyzer technology. Project construction will start as early as the third quarter of 2022.
